gary killmister

Gary is the principal of CI Accountancy and has been an accountant in practice since 1987. His experience spans many countries and jurisdictions. Gary was also one of the first members of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners in 1995. STEP is now a global professional body for Trust specialists, Gary remains active within the organization, being a member of the regional management committee and the UK national committee.

Having originally trained and worked in Jersey, Gary has a strong background in tourism and related leisure and licensing industries. Also with respect to trusts and taxation relating to inheritance and capital gains planning, particularly in relation to those owning assets in foreign jurisdictions. 
 
Gary and his wife own a small holding with a stable yard, giving a particular insight into farming, estates and equine industries.   He is a former international water polo player, and enthusiastic (but not very good) rugby player. His hobbies are being an equally enthusiastic and passionate supporter of rugby, fishing and cooking.

Les became a Director and Partner of CI Accountancy in October 2010. He has over 25 years experience in high street banking, dealing with businesses of all sizes. In 2005 Les left banking to set up his own business consultancy, Business Support Direct, motivated by his desire to work closer with both new and existing businesses to help them grow and develop. Les is professionally qualified with management, customer service and sales experience. Les specialises in Business planning, Finance, Business Development and Business Start-ups.


Within Les’s role at CI Accountancy he is responsible for operations, client service provision and marketing and takes the lead on business advisory and consultancy services.
Les is a strong believer in providing excellent customer service and states “excellent customer service is not achieved by meeting expectations, but by exceeding them”.


Les lives in Hexham with his wife. His main hobbies are playing golf (not very well) and watching any kind of sport on TV. Les is also Treasurer of Hexham Golf Club, Member of local networking group Tynedale Business Network, a Member of Hexham Business Forum and a Director of Hexham Community Trust. In any remaining spare time Les is an enthusiastic member of English Heritage, having a passion for visiting castles.

carol conyers

 

Carol joined the C I Accountancy team at the beginning of 2009. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience in practice.

Accountancy training began for Carol in Harrogate, with a three partner practice, followed by spending five years working for three practices in Newcastle before taking up a position in Hexham. Carol’s specialities are in company accounts, charities, training and practice management. Carol firmly believes in ‘helping the client to help themselves’ through the provision of training and understandable explanations, ensuring satisfaction from both the client and accountant.

Carol has three children and in her spare time she enjoys cycling, climbing, swimming and generally being in the outdoors.
